Fibre Speed Upgrade Relief

We partnered with various Fibre providers to help Afrihost clients in these challenging times. We thought it would be great if you could upgrade your Fibre line speed at no extra cost for a couple of months.

We hoped this would help in these uncertain times of COVID-19. A huge thank you and credit to all the Fibre providers who agreed to do just that!

Please note that all times, participating Fibre providers, package changes and exclusions stated in this article are subject to change.

Will I be charged for this higher line speed?

No. You’ll get the speed upgrade during the relief period at no extra cost to you.

When will my line speed be upgraded?

Fibre line speed upgrades will automatically start on 01 April 2020. Please note that it may take some time for the upgrades to be completed and you may not see the upgraded speeds right away. In most cases upgrades will start with smaller packages and then move to the larger packages.

What happens at the end of the relief period?

Your Fibre line will revert back to its original speed. Please refer to the relevant Fibre provider below for details on when the relief period ends.

Can I stay on the higher line speed after the relief period?

If you would like a faster Fibre line speed after the incentive period ends, you can upgrade your lines speed via ClientZone. Please note, however, that you’ll have to pay the full price of your new Fibre package. 

Can I change my line speed DURING the relief period?

You can submit a package change via ClientZone during the relief period. Upgrades will only be scheduled for the end of the relevant relief period. Downgrades will be processed at the beginning of the following month.

Century City Connect
 

Century City Connect download speeds will be upgraded and we’ll give you FASTER internet at ZERO cost to you for the next few months.

• Effective from 01 April to 31 May 2020.

Selected clients with Century City Connect Fibre will receive the next-higher line speed, as listed below.

Evotel
 

Evotel download speeds will be upgraded and we’ll give you FASTER internet at ZERO cost to you for the next few months.

• Effective from 01 April to 31 July 2020.

Selected clients with Evotel Fibre will receive the next-higher line speed, as listed below.

The following Evotel clients will NOT be upgraded:

• All Evotel clients on a 200Mbps package.
• 1Gbps clients will unfortunately not receive a speed upgrade, as this is the maximum line speed.

Frogfoot
 

Frogfoot download speeds will be upgraded and we’ll give you FASTER internet at ZERO cost to you for the next few months.

• Effective from 01 April to 31 August 2020.

Selected clients with Frogfoot Fibre will receive the next-higher line speed, as listed below.

The following Frogfoot clients will NOT be upgraded:

• All Frogfoot clients in Port Elizabeth and George.
• All former Blitz Fibre clients.
• 1Gbps clients will unfortunately not receive a speed upgrade, as this is the maximum line speed.

Link Africa
 

Link Africa download speeds will be upgraded and we’ll give you FASTER internet at ZERO cost to you for the next couple of months.

• Effective from 01 April to 17 July 2020.

All clients with Link Africa Fibre will receive the next-higher line speed, as listed below.

MetroFibre
 

MetroFibre download speeds will be upgraded and we’ll give you FASTER internet at ZERO cost to you for the next few months.

• 10Mbps speed upgrade effective from 01 April to 31 July 2020.
• All other speed upgrades effective from 01 April to 25 May 2020.

All clients with MetroFibre will receive an additional 10Mbps bandwidth, as listed below.

The following MetroFibre clients will NOT be upgraded:

• 200Mbps clients will unfortunately not receive a speed upgrade, as this is the maximum line speed.

Openserve Fibre
 

Openserve Fibre download speeds will be upgraded and we’ll give you FASTER internet at ZERO cost to you for the next few months.

• Effective from 01 May to 31 July 2020.

Clients with Openserve Fibre will receive the next-higher line speed, as listed below.

The following Openserve clients will NOT be upgraded:

• 100Mbps
• 200Mbps

SADV
 

SADV download speeds will be upgraded and we’ll give you FASTER internet at ZERO cost to you for the next few months.

• Effective from 01 April to 31 July 2020.

All SADV clients in Gauteng, Western Cape (excl. Mossel Bay), Kwa-Zulu Natal, and Free State would be subject to the following upgrades:

All SADV clients in the Eastern Cape, Mossel Bay, and Rustenberg would be subject to the following upgrades:

The following SADV clients will NOT be upgraded:

• All 100Mbps packages in the Eastern Cape, Mossel Bay and Rustenburg.

Vumatel
 

Vumatel download speeds will be upgraded and we’ll give you FASTER internet at ZERO cost to you for the next few months.

• Effective from 01 April to 31 July 2020.

Selected clients with Vumatel Fibre will receive the next-higher line speed, as listed below.

The following Vumatel clients will NOT be upgraded:

• Clients on a synchronous 200/200Mbps package will NOT automatically be upgraded to 1Gbps - we can, however, upgrade these clients upon request.
• 1Gbps clients will not receive a speed upgrade, as this is the maximum line speed.

Vuma Reach
 

Vuma Reach download speeds will be upgraded and we’ll give you FASTER internet at ZERO cost to you for the next few months.

• Effective from 01 April to 31 August 2020.

Clients with Mitchells Fibre will get double their line speed, as listed below.
