Afrihost Hosting Outage 

Summary

We experienced an incident at our Gallo Manor Data Centre between 12 and 14 January 2014 affecting our Cloud Hosting services.

Our intention is give a detailed description of the incident in question and how it was resolved.

Sunday 12 January 2014

We experienced a reduction in storage performance on Sunday evening (12 January) during an upgrade intended to improve our Cloud Storage redundancy. This was escalated to senior Afrihost engineers and our team consulted with the storage vendor. Our team worked tirelessly through several nights to resolve the issues.

Resolution:


Additional capacity was introduced to the affected Cloud Storage cluster.

Several affected servers required a reboot to restore all services.
